Frenemies
Lucky has a new friend.
Or enemy.
I don’t know yet for sure which he’ll be.
His name is Optimus, a gray and white kitten. He lives upstairs.
Usually he sits on his roost, basking in the sun and swatting at gnats and butterflies.
But he’s gotten curious
And has been wandering downstairs…
Where the wild things are.
I wish him Luck.

When I was first introduced to Lucky, she was a feisty alley cat who ruled the streets of Ocean Beach, charming the leftovers out of any unsuspecting animal lover with a weakness for her piercing yellow doe eyes and velvet fur. I’m sure she wasn’t thrilled about moving away from the beach (and deli, her favorite mooching spot), but there’s just as much adventure to be had in the Val. I can hardly stand to watch her tree acrobatics, but there’s no doubt the kitty’s still got her edge!

Ready, Yeti?
The radio station FM 94/9 has been very good to me these past couple of years. Last year I won a contest to go live on the air and play 10 of my favorite songs. And last week I won a weekend trip to Big Bear for myself and three friends. We leave tomorrow and I can’t wait! Packing… (Minus the cat.)
