Thread Show at Wonderhaus
I first heard about Thread after viewing photos of Set + Drift’s project at the fashion/art event in May. After a show earlier this month in San Francisco, Thread made its way back down to San Diego at the old Wonderbread factory, now called Wonderhaus. (Six degrees of separation side note: Wonderhaus was developed by Blokhaus, headed up by local architect Graham Downes, who was a client of the public relations firm I used to work for.) Thread has become SD’s premiere independent fashion festival and Wonderhaus couldn’t be a better venue for exploring unique pieces and getting funky with the camera.

Photos in print
My photos appear on two pages of this month’s 944 San Diego magazine.
Taken at the Del Mar “Party in the Paddock” on closing day of the races; English Beat performed:

The stars came out for the Taste at the Cove charity event in La Jolla and after-party at Azul. Making appearances (and shown below) were Kiptyn Locke from The Bachelorette, Marshall Faulk, Tony Hawk, San Diego Padres pitcher Luke Gregerson and third-baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff, Tony Gwynn, Jr., Shawne Merriman and Ted Leitner, and basketball vet Bill Walton. Was a fun night out to stay the least.

Street Scene ‘09
For me, going to Street Scene is kind of like a visit to the dentist. I haven’t been in awhile and I’m hoping for the best, but deep down I know the whole thing is probably going to suck (and drain my checking account).
A free ticket and photo pass made it a little more tolerable. But then the heat…yeah, take two steps back. Do not pass GO, do not collect $200.
Fotos from the big day: (I skipped Saturday to attend my girl Aubs’ book release party.)

Nice shoes, wanna…?

Cake. I’d be pissed, too, if the Black Eyed Peas’ stage set-up was covering up my sweet slide show:

I think we can all agree that Girl Talk stole the show:

Fergie pee check! All clear so far…

Del Mar Opening Day 2009
The Del Mar races are all about hats, horses and winning the big bucks. 944 magazine sent me and Aubs to Opening Day last week to document all things glamorous, “where the turf meets the surf.”
Former Miss California Carrie Prejean, “That ’70s Show” actor Wilmer Valderrama, Carl’s Jr. bikini babe and “The Hills” hottie Audrina Patridge, and a handful of NFL stars I can’t identify showed up to kick off racing season at the track.
